How to install, configure, and use the Scoutly Chrome Extension for 1-click job application autofill.
Installing the Chrome Extension
The Scoutly Chrome Extension connects your Scoutly web workspace directly with employer career sites, allowing you to clip jobs and autofill multi-page application forms seamlessly.
- Open the Chrome Web Store and search for Scoutly: AI Job Application Autofill.
- Click Add to Chrome and confirm the installation.
- Click the puzzle icon in your browser toolbar and pin the Scoutly icon for quick access.
- Click the Scoutly icon while logged into your Scoutly web account to synchronize your Master Profile.

The Scoutly Extension is built on Chromium Manifest V3 and is compatible with any modern Chromium browser:

Permissions Explained
Scoutly is designed with strict privacy boundaries. We only request the minimum permissions necessary to perform form autofill:
- activeTab — enables the extension to detect job application forms only on the currently active tab when you trigger autofill.
- storage — securely stores your session token and temporary form cache locally in your browser.
- scripting — safely injects the form autofill heuristic engine into employer application pages.
We never monitor your browsing history or keystrokes on unrelated websites.

Troubleshooting & Health Check
If the extension is not detecting an application form on a career page:
- Ensure you are logged into your Scoutly account in the same browser window.
- Refresh the employer application tab to let the content script re-index DOM inputs.
- Click the Scoutly extension icon in your browser toolbar and click Sync Profile to ensure your latest Master Profile changes are loaded.
