Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Please read our Acceptable Use Policy carefully. It dictates the rules of engagement when using Scoutly's AI tools, Chrome extension, and career automation platform to ensure a safe and ethical platform for all job seekers.

On this page

1.Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the acceptable and prohibited uses of the Scoutly platform, Chrome extension, and AI career services. By using Scoutly, you agree to comply with this policy. This policy is designed to protect our infrastructure, ensure candidate safety and privacy, and foster responsible automated job search workflows.

2.Prohibited Activities

When using Scoutly, including our AI tailoring engine, auto-fill extension, and application tracking APIs, you must not engage in any of the following activities:

  • Credential Harvesting: Storing or transmitting third-party credentials, session tokens, or private company portal keys illicitly.
  • Spam Applications & Bot Abuse: Generating abusive volumes of unsolicited or spam job submissions intended to overwhelm ATS systems or employer mailboxes.
  • Identity Fraud: Fabricating fraudulent identities, misrepresenting licenses, or providing forged certifications during application autofill.
  • Platform Exploitation: Reverse-engineering Scoutly backend APIs, attempting DDoS attacks, or circumvention of rate limits and subscription tiers.

3.Content Restrictions

You may not use Scoutly to host, transmit, or process any content that:

  • Violates or infringes upon the intellectual property rights or trade secrets of employers.
  • Contains discriminatory, defamatory, deceptive, or offensive material.
  • Violates the confidentiality agreements or non-disclosure agreements with previous employers.
  • Violates the privacy rights of any individual or entity.

4.Fair Resource Usage

Scoutly provides generous AI processing credits for resume tailoring and cover letter generation. However, abusive consumption (e.g. scripted bulk generation or reselling API tokens) that negatively impacts the platform for other job seekers is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that exhibit abusive usage patterns.

5.Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violations of this AUP. If we determine that a violation has occurred, we may take any action we deem appropriate, including issuing warnings, suspending or terminating your account, and invalidating API access without prior notice.

6.Reporting Violations

If you encounter any content or activity on Scoutly that you believe violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to us immediately at support@scoutly.in.
